The third in our 2021 Masterclass Series looks at how you can support employees to progress in their careers.
Social mobility isn’t just about who gets in, it’s also about who gets on. Learn about how you can support employees throughout their careers, by offering equal access to opportunities and removing any artificial barriers to progression.
There are several steps you could take to pave the way for people to rise the ranks, such as having defined list of skills required for each promotion to ensure a fair process or building flexibility into job specifications, to make juggling childcare and career easier for working mothers.
People from lower socio-economic backgrounds also typically find it harder to access training, so make sure opportunities are readily available and encourage people, from all backgrounds, to up-skill.
This session will take the form of:
- A short presentation by the Social Mobility Commission – we are leading advocates for social mobility in England, who produce a host of research and guidance for employers
- Followed by in-depth case-studies from the Cabinet Office and KPMG
We hope that you will be able to join us and thank you for being committed to driving real change in the social mobility space. Please make sure to register using the Eventbrite link above. We look forward to seeing you there!
