On Wednesday, 9 October Deputy Chair of the SMC, Rob Wilson, hosted an online event to discuss our ‘Childhood Origins of Social Mobility’ report. His guests were Dr Lindsay Richards, co-author of the report, and Dr Jacalyn Guy, our Deputy Director of Evidence and Analysis.
In 2016, the SMC worked with Lindsay and others to produce the first Understanding the Origins of Social Mobility report. On 9 October 2024, we published an updated report which included new data that’s been gathered over the last 8 years. This newest version of the report focuses more on child well-being. In this webinar, we discussed the findings of the updated report in detail.
