Social mobility and the economy: Are they 2 sides of the same coin?

Alun Francis OBE, Chair of the Social Mobility Commission will deliver a keynote speech, as he challenges conventional thinking about social mobility and shares the Commission’s perspective on the current economic landscape in the UK.

Alun will explore whether in a landscape where social mobility champions predominantly focus on increasing access to elite occupations; this approach ultimately serves the truly disadvantaged or only the “lucky few”? 

The speech will be followed by a live Q&A hosted by Andy Haldane, CEO of the Royal Society of Arts.
